Actress Selma Blair was taken into custody after an alleged physical altercation aboard a Delta Air Lines flight from Los Angeles (LAX) to New York (JFK), law enforcement officials reported.

Mid-Air Altercation on Delta Flight 938

The incident occurred on Delta Flight 938 en route to John F. Kennedy International Airport. According to the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, officers were alerted to reports of an unruly passenger who became physically abusive toward crew members mid-flight.

During the disturbance, flight crew members reportedly placed the 54-year-old actress in restraints after two flight attendants sustained injuries, including a bite mark and a laceration. Following landing, one of the injured flight attendants was transported to a local hospital for further medical evaluation.

Arrest at JFK Airport and Subsequent Charges

Port Authority Police Department officers met the aircraft at the gate late Sunday night and took Blair into custody. She was transported to Jamaica Hospital for medical and psychiatric assessment. Law enforcement officials stated that during transit and after arriving at the medical facility, additional altercations took place, resulting in Blair facing assault charges involving a responding police officer and a nurse.

In response to the incident, a spokesperson for Delta Air Lines emphasized the carrier’s zero-tolerance policy:

“Delta has zero tolerance for unruly or unlawful behavior, as the safety of our customers and crew always comes first.”

A representative for Selma Blair released a statement addressing the event:

“Selma experienced a medical emergency that led to the alleged conduct. Upon landing, she received immediate medical attention and is currently in stable condition.”

Because the disruption and alleged assaults took place on a commercial flight in domestic airspace, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has launched an investigation alongside local authorities.
