‘Really Low IQ’ Thief Steals Empty Apple Mac Mini Boxes in Bizarre Arizona Burglary

An Arizona tech company burglary has gone viral after an intruder broke into an office and made off with an armful of empty Apple packaging, completely ignoring thousands of dollars worth of real hardware sitting in plain sight.

Tempe Smash-and-Grab Caught on Surveillance Video

The break-in took place at a technology business in Tempe, Arizona. Surveillance camera footage shows the suspect smashing an office window in the early morning hours. Rather than fully climbing inside to scour the office, the burglar reached through the broken window frame and quickly shoved a large stack of Apple Mac Mini boxes outside.

Actual Computers Left Untouched

Company employees arriving at the scene discovered the shattered glass and immediately reviewed the security tapes to see what had been taken. To their surprise, the high-value electronics remained untouched on the office desks right next to the window. The stolen boxes were completely empty packaging awaiting disposal or storage.

Employee Curran Rose told local reporters that the suspect never checked the weight or contents of the containers, joking: “Our computers were right there in front of them. They just steal the boxes instead. Really low IQ.”

Police Investigation and Reward Offered

While empty Apple retail packaging can occasionally fetch small amounts from online resellers, the haul holds virtually zero value compared to the functional hardware left behind. The business owner has filed a formal report with the Tempe Police Department and is offering a $1,500 cash reward for any tips that lead to the identification and arrest of the suspect.
