(#SNME) What is the story behind this trend in Social Media today?
07-09-2026
#SNME stands for Sunday Night’s Main Event, WWE’s periodic prime-time special that usually airs on Saturday. This particular edition broke tradition by airing on Sunday, September 6, 2026, live from State Farm Arena in Atlanta. The card was built around two major storylines. Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton met in a highly personal rematch that stretched back nearly two decades. In the other featured bout, Oba Femi faced Bron Breakker in a first-time singles match framed as a contest to decide who represented the future of the company after Femi’s recent high-profile win over Brock Lesnar.Additional matches included a six-woman tag team bout and a five-minute non-title contest between United States Champion Baron Corbin and Lil Yachty. The show also opened with a live musical performance by Quavo.Because the event aired last night, the hashtag remains active today as fans recap the matches, debate the finishes, and react to in-ring moments such as the referee taking a large number of bumps. The combination of the unusual Sunday slot, the stacked card, and the just-concluded results is what has the term trending.
