• Corporate & Legal Context: Offering financial rewards directly tied to the act of casting a ballot or registering to vote carries strict federal and state legal limits. By framing the program around nonpartisan voter education, planning, and civic engagement support, Patagonia focuses on turning intent into action without running afoul of anti-vote-buying statutes.

• Longstanding Civic Engagement: This campaign expands on Patagonia’s history of civic and political activism. The company has previously closed its retail stores, offices, and distribution centers on Election Day, co-founded the nonpartisan “Time to Vote” coalition to ensure employees get paid time off to vote, and consistently directed resources toward environmental and democracy-focused grassroots movements.
