Costco has ended its partnership with Oregon-based Deschutes Brewery, resulting in the quiet discontinuation of its co-branded Kirkland Signature craft beers: the Kirkland Signature Helles Lager and the Kirkland Signature Vintage Ale.

The collaboration began in December 2024, offering 12-packs for $13.99. The products quickly became popular among shoppers for their combination of low price and high quality. Notably, the Kirkland Signature Helles Lager earned significant industry recognition, winning a silver medal at the World Beer Cup in 2025 and a bronze medal in 2026.

According to a note sent to distributors by Deschutes Brewery CEO Peter Skrbek, the partnership concluded after reaching the end of its volume commitment. While existing inventory continued to be sold until supplies ran out, production wound down, leading to the beers phasing out of Costco warehouse shelves. Neither company explicitly cited any other official reason for ending the two-year arrangement, though Deschutes noted that the partnership had successfully helped boost its sales volume during the collaboration.
