The Colorado State Patrol investigated a multi-vehicle crash on U.S. 285 that resulted in the death of a female motorcyclist.
The incident occurred when three vehicles, including a motorcycle, collided on the highway. According to the Colorado State Patrol, the motorcyclist was traveling northbound and attempted to pass a 2008 Toyota RAV4 on the left, subsequently striking a southbound 2016 Lexus and then colliding with the RAV4.
The female motorcycle rider was pronounced dead at the scene, and her identity was scheduled to be released by the Park County Coroner after notifying next of kin. The crash led to a closure of the highway between County Road 60 and Geneva Creek while authorities investigated and cleared the scene.
