The report from the Yorkshire Evening Post focuses on the involvement and reaction surrounding Leeds United pair James Trafford and Dominic Calvert-Lewin following England’s UEFA Nations League opener under Thomas Tuchel:

• James Trafford’s Start Over Jordan Pickford: Thomas Tuchel made a major selection statement by dropping long-standing number one Jordan Pickford to the bench and handing Leeds United’s record-signing goalkeeper James Trafford a start against Spain at Wembley. In the match against Spain, Harry Kane started up front, with Calvert-Lewin introduced late from the bench as England searched for a way back into the game.

• Reactions and Debate: The article highlights the reaction to Tuchel’s bold tactical decisionsmost notably putting trust in Trafford against top-tier opposition like Spain, as well as the ongoing debate over how England’s tactical set-up can best utilize Calvert-Lewin’s aerial and physical strengths during this four-match international block.
