The Grovetown Police Department led a multi-agency undercover sting operation targeting online child predators across the Central Savannah River Area (CSRA). Working alongside task force partnersincluding the Georgia Bureau of Investigation’s Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) unitundercover investigators posed online as minors to detect individuals seeking illicit contact.
The operation resulted in six arrests after suspects arranged in-person meetings with individuals they believed to be underage children. Upon arriving at designated meetup locations in the area, the suspects were taken into custody by waiting law enforcement officers and charged with felony offenses related to the sexual exploitation of children and enticing minors. Authorities emphasized the continued importance of parental vigilance over online communications and social media platforms to safeguard children from predatory activity.
