Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu made a rare, unannounced trip to the United Arab Emirates on Sunday, where he met with UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan in Abu Dhabi. Both Israeli and Emirati authorities subsequently confirmed the visit.
According to official statements from Netanyahu’s office and the UAE’s state-run WAM news agency, the discussions centered on bilateral relations, strengthening ties between the two countries, and addressing regional challenges.
The trip followed recent media reportsincluding claims published by the Israeli daily Haaretzalleging that the Emirati leader had warned Netanyahu about an impending large-scale Hamas operation shortly before the October 7, 2023 attacks. Netanyahu’s office strongly denied those reports, labeling them as false.
