According to the article from WHIO, 29-year-old Jazzmine Huffman was sentenced to six months in jail and up to five years of probation after pleading guilty to tampering with evidence in connection with the death of her boyfriend’s 23-month-old son, Braxton Trollinger.

The case dates back to July 14, 2023, when Dayton police and medics responded to a medical emergency at an apartment on Darst Avenue. First responders found the toddler dead with significant bruising and burn injuries. An autopsy later determined the cause of death to be multiple blunt force trauma and burn injuries combined with lidocaine toxicity.

The child’s father, Kenyon Joevon Johnson, had previously pleaded guilty to one count of murder and was sentenced to 15 years to life in prison. Huffman’s sentencing follows her guilty plea for tampering with evidence in the case.
